Yeast Waffles
Jane Andrus, Chris’ mom gave me this recipe many years ago. Make it on a Saturday night and bake them on Sunday morning. They freeze well.
Ingredients
- 3 cups flour
- 2 cups milk
- 1 pkg yeast
- ½ cup warm water
- ⅓ cup melted butter or margarine
- 2 beaten eggs
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
Instructions
- Heat milk, cool to lukewarm
- Sprinkle yeast on warm water in large bowl and stir to dissolve
- Add milk, margarine, salt, sugar and flour mixing with electric mixer until smooth
- Cover with plastic wrap and let stand at room temperature overnight
- When ready to bake add 2 beaten eggs and baking soda
- Beat well
Notes
Makes about 8-10 waffles.
