Yeast Waffles
Jane Andrus, Chris’ mom gave me this recipe many years ago. Make it on a Saturday night and bake them on Sunday morning. They freeze well.
Ingredients
3
cups
flour
2
cups
milk
1
pkg
yeast
½
cup
warm water
⅓
cup
melted butter or margarine
2
beaten eggs
1
tsp
salt
1
tsp
sugar
1
tsp
baking powder
Instructions
Heat milk, cool to lukewarm
Sprinkle yeast on warm water in large bowl and stir to dissolve
Add milk, margarine, salt, sugar and flour mixing with electric mixer until smooth
Cover with plastic wrap and let stand at room temperature overnight
When ready to bake add 2 beaten eggs and baking soda
Beat well
Notes
Makes about 8-10 waffles.
